Reconciliation in a divided culture

We’re excited to announce that our next Salt Live event will be on the subject of finding ‘Reconciliation in a Divided Culture’. We’re very fortunate to have Michael Ramsden, the international director of RZIM to come and speak to us on this topic. Michael regularly speaks to leaders and influencers across the globe.

The topic is a very relevant one. Many of us recognise we live in a deeply divided society. Our university campuses and social media feeds are increasingly full of accusations of injustice. From Germaine Greer to Peter Tatchell, Richard Dawkins to Brian Cox, no one is safe from contemporary society’s obsession with victimhood. So many of us are asking, how can we find peace in a world where everyone feels like a victim?

The former Chief Rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks was interviewed on Newsnight this week and said: ‘We’ve become a nation of individualists. We’ve forgotten that the team is bigger than the players and the game is bigger than the team. Instead we have a culture of prima donnas and very loud and angry extreme voices’. Michael will be exploring how to achieve true reconciliation in a world that feels increasingly angry and asking what the Christian faith has to say on the subject.

He passionately engages with people of all backgrounds and cultures about questions of faith, primarily speaking in business, academic, and political settings across the globe. In the past, he has been invited to lecture in various settings including the White House in Washington DC and has in the past addressed leaders at NATO HQ in Brussels, Members of the European Parliament, as well as bankers and investment managers on the recent global financial crisis.

We look forward to seeing you there.
